Eugene Henri Paul Gauguin (June 1848 - May 1903) was a French, Post Impressionist, painter who was underappreciated until after his death. He was also an important figure in the Symbolist movement as a painter, sculptor, printmaker and writer. He even dabbled in wood engraving.
