Charles Burton Barber was born in Great Yarmouth, Engalnd in 1845 and lived up to 1894. He was a regarded by many in England to be the finest animal painter and generally painted children and their pets. Charles was even commission by Queen Victoria to paint several portraits of her grandchildren and their pets. His work ranged from photographically realistic to quick sketches and his work remains popular, largely because of his competent painting.
